Freedom House Prayer Counseling Ministries
Rose Marie Borrelli has been a born-again Christian since attending a Billy Graham crusade in Chicago in 1964 and Spirit-filled since 1971. A graduate of the John and Paula Sandford's Elijah House School of Prayer Counseling in Spokane, Washington. She has been doing Prayer Counseling since 1980 and is the Founder of Freedom House Prayer Counseling Ministry.
She is a seminar speaker and Bible teacher for groups of all ages. Among other things, she has also taught a foundation class in bitter roots principles at Family Fellowship Christian School in Berwyn, founded by her daughter, Mari Anne Andersen.
Rose Marie is still very active as a full time Prayer Counselor. She also acts in the capacity of Counselor Consultant, Intake Coordinator, Lead Intercessor and Internship Director for new prayer counselors.
Rose Marie is captivated by the soul-stirring ambition of writing a book on the weakness she sees in the body of Christ in the area of Confrontational Infirmities. She has also been working on a few children's books, teaching the Elijah House principles, hoping to see them published soon.
Tommy and Mari Anne Andersen met at Bible School in 1980. Both were saved in their teenage years and had the call to serve God from the very beginning. Tommy was born and raised in Norway, where he also received his initial spiritual training through Norwegian Youth With A Mission (Ungdom I Oppdrag). Mari Anne was born and raised a true Chicagoan and was introduced to the ministry early on through her mother, Rose Marie Borrelli.
After their marriage in 1982, they served overseas in Norway, Tommy being part of The Norwegian Santal Mission (The Santal Mission has?merged?with Normisjonen). Through an invitation, they returned to the States to be part of the staff at Bible School in Wisconsin.
In Chicago in 1990, they founded and pastored Family Fellowship Christian Church and founded Family Fellowship Christian School. Mari Anne directed and taught in the school. Tommy worked a full time job with mentally challenged adults for over 18 years. They have three adult children: Karin Marie, Fillip, and Markus.
Tommy and Mari Anne work together as a team in the ministry, directing, teaching, preaching and counseling. They flow together in the Holy Spirit with tenderness and a strong touch of the Father's love and heart. Their prophetic anointing brings freedom and healing into many lives.
Cindy Strote - Counselor, Palos Park, IL
Cindy Strote lives in Palos Park, Illinois. She has been married to Scott for 30 years and has three children ranging in age from 16 to 25. She graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelors in Psychology in 1973 and received her Masters in Counseling from Wheaton in 1979. She has played an active role in Women's Ministry in her church for the last 20 years.
Cindy went through Freedom House counseling herself a number of years ago and experienced God's powerful hand to set her free from the chains of her past. As a result of the impact of this ministry on her life, she pursued Elijah House Training for Prayer Counseling and went on staff with Freedom House after completing the course in 2002. She counsels out of her home and feels privileged to be able to share the truths of God's transforming love and power, and to witness His powerful impact on the lives of His children.
Carol Long - Counselor, Oregon, IL
Carol Long has loved the Lord since she was very small having grown up in a Christian home. Her heart is for loving people to life, teaching and healing wounded spirits - that they may know the Lord more intimately and directly.
At 16, she went to St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, taking many Bible courses and general education. She married a Norwegian and went abroad to live for one and a half years. She worked as assistant to the President, and later as controller, of Wood Brothers Manufacturing Company (later Woods Equipment Company) in Oregon, IL. She has given speeches for IBM and the American Production and Inventory Control Society.
Carol has counseled for 20 years. The midlife crisis and depression of her mother and suicides by her first husband and brother sent her on a journey to learn God's truth to help others. She obtained a B.S. in Psychology and Sociology from Rockford College, only to learn the answers were not there. Only Jesus heals.
She was baptized in the Holy Spirit on May 17, 1978, and learned of the Elijah House teachings. Her hunger for the things of God has resulted in certification from Elijah House Prayer Ministry and Counseling. She facilitated Elijah House Basic Schools for six years. She also has completed Theophostic Ministry Basic Training, has a certificate from the John G. Lake Divine Healing Institute, a Health Minister Certificate from Hallelujah Acres and has attended Vision Life and other seminars.
She is married to Robert Long. They have six children and seven grandchildren. They reside in Oregon, IL, and sometimes counsel together.
Rose Kurczab - Counselor and Back In Control Facilitator, Cicero, IL??
Rose Kurczab has been a Freedom House Prayer Counselor since 1998. She obtained her prayer counseling training through Freedom House Ministries using Elijah House curriculum. Rose has also received certification in Theophostic Prayer Ministry.
Recently, Rose was presented with the opportunity to be trained by Gregory Bodenhamer, best selling author of Back in Control and Parent in Control. Under the training of Gregory Bodenhamer, Rose conducts workshops for parents with out-of-control teens. She also works with teens diagnosed with ADD and ADHD imbalances.
Rose provides home schooling, called Rose of Sharon, to help troubled teens who are unable to fit into the regular school environment.
Rose has been married for 25 years and has a daughter and a grandson.
Cynthia Collins - Counselor, Chicago IL
Cynthia Collins is a city of Chicago resident. She was baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1987. In an effort to resolve issues resulting from divorce and the grief of losing her father, a friend directed her to Freedom House Ministry prayer counseling training.
Cynthia has earned a Bachelors' of Arts degree from Governors State University, and she has served several years as a church administrator. She has completed Theophostic Ministry Basic Training with future plans to continue on to the advanced level.
As a volunteer for a girl's organization, she developed the passion to help young women foster a positive self image. She is currently studying "The Caring For Kids God's Way" curriculum to obtain a certificate from the "American Association of Christian Counselors."
LaVerne Smith - Bookkeeper, Secretary and Intercessor, Berwyn, IL
LaVerne Smith was born again and Spirit-filled in March, 1988, and she has faithfully followed Jesus as His true disciple. She has attended a number of Bible studies for several years. These Bible studies included a survey of the Old and New Testaments at Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) in Oak Park.
LaVerne is a wife, mother of three children, and grandmother of seven. For several years, she has volunteered her services to Freedom House as head secretary, intercessor, and bookkeeper.Time and space do not allow us to identify all of what LaVerne has so warmly given to others. LaVerne has always given so generously of the gifts God has bestowed upon her. She serves quietly behind the scenes." At Jappa, there was a certain disciple named Dorcas. This woman was a believer who constantly did kind things for others." (Acts 9:36) LaVerne is a modern day Levite who is indispensable to this minstry. She was given to us by God as a gift. We honor and appreciate her longstanding faithfulness to Freedom House.
Cindy Pagliuzza - Theophostic Counselor, Evanston, IL
Cindy Pagliuzza lives in Evanston with her husband and they have three grown children. Cindy started her college education at Moody Bible Institute in Bible Theology. She finished at Northeastern Illinois University in Psychology in 1978. She graduated from Elijah House Prayer Training for Prayer Counseling in 2001 and then went on staff with Freedom House Ministry. She was certified in Theophostics in 2002. Cindy has enjoyed helping with Freedom House's video schools and being on the prayer team. She has been drawn to counseling since high school. She treasures seeing God working in people's lives and being a part of that. She is on the prayer team at her church and for many years lead a local chapter of Moms In Touch International.
